Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has said Liverpool will still have a major say in the fight to finish in the Premier League top four.
Neville was speaking on Sky Sports after the Reds beat Everton 2-0 on Monday night.
Goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo saw Liverpool claim their first win of 2023.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will now travel to Newcastle United this weekend for their next fixture.
A win at St James’ Park would reduce the gap between Liverpool and the last Champions League qualifying spot to six points.
And with some of their important players close to returning from injury, Neville feels you cannot write off the Anfield club with so many games remaining.
“You put Van Dijk in that team, Jota on the bench along with Diaz potentially coming back, Firmino as well then it’s a completely different story.
“All of a sudden when you look at that league table it doesn’t look like they’re out of that reckoning for the top four.
“The reality is they will come again this season and will go on a run if they can the players into the team,” Neville said.
