The Anambra State Police Command says a new suspect allegedly connected with the murder of a nursing student in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, is now in its custody. The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued in Awka on Saturday.
A 43-year-old British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer, Igho Ubiribo, has died after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure during a holiday in Thailand. A UK coroner ruled that the cosmetic procedure caused a fatal pulmonary embolism. Ubiribo, also known by the nicknames “Tiny”, “Denisi” and “Ego”, was reportedly on a luxury holiday in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, when he underwent the procedure.
Three people died in a road accident along the Ife-Ilesa Expressway in Osun State on Saturday, while about 20 others were injured. The Osun Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Sunday Adebayo, who confirmed the casualty figures to journalists, said the two vehicles involved collided head-on.
The Kano State Hisbah Board says it has arrested 22 suspects, comprising 10 women and 12 men, over an alleged attempt to organise an illegal event in the state. The board’s Deputy Commander-General, Dr Mujahedeen Aminudeen, disclosed this to journalists in Kano on Saturday. Aminudeen said preliminary investigations indicated that most of the suspects were allegedly involved in drug abuse.
A fire has razed six buildings housing shops at the Babban Layi plastic shops section of Kofar Wambai Market in Kano State. The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, disclosed this in a statement signed by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, on Saturday.
