Unknown gunmen kill vigilante, injure one other in Kwara community

Unknown gunmen, on Wednesday evening, attacked Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, DAILY POST reports.

Security sources disclosed that during the bloody attack, the gunmen killed a popular vigilante man identified as Baba Ibeji and injured his younger brother, popularly known as Ajere.

According to a source, “The P.O.S. shop directly opposite Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, divisional office in the community, was also broken into.

“The gunmen did not spare the NSCDC office at ORO-AGO as it was also attacked and destroyed.”

DAILY POST recalls that last Sunday, Omugo ECWA Church via Oro-Ago was invaded by armed bandits followed by another daring attack on Tuesday on a convoy between Oro-Ago and Oke-Oyan in Ilere district of Ifelodun Local Government Area.

While eight worshippers were abducted and three victims later escaped in the Omugo ECWA church attack, two persons identified as local hunters, who served as escort were, however, killed in the attack on the convoy between Oro-Ago and Oke-Oyan.

Efforts to reach security agencies on the Wednesday evening attack were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
