1. As speculations continue to mount over whether former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the coming Presidential election, the former president on Thursday night visited the National Chairman of the coalition African Democratic Congress, ADC. The meeting is coming hours after the ADC held its First National Caucus meeting in Abuja, and adopted the new party as the coalition platform.
2. The coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu has finally settled for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, disassociating itself from the yet to be registered All Democratic Alliance, ADA. According to Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the coalition, this was part of the resolution of party leaders at a meeting which held in Abuja on Thursday.
3. A 30-year-old man identified as Mutawakilu Ibrahim has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his grandparents to death over food. According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the incident occurred on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Kofar Dawanau Quarters in Kano metropolis.
4. Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, has said arming personnel may be the only way to effectively enforce traffic regulations on Nigerian highways. Speaking on TV on Thursday, Mohammed described the enormous risks road safety operatives face, especially when confronting heavy-duty vehicles.
5. Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers after they collected N2 million ransom from their victim and still shot him. The suspects, identified as Chukwuebuka Nka (25), Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma, allegedly shot the victim in the leg after discovering he did not have enough money in his account.
6. The Federal Government on Thursday declared that President Bola Tinubu has promoted more than 52,000 personnel across four paramilitary services in the Ministry of Interior within just two years in office, breaking decades of career stagnation that had deprived officers of deserved advancement. Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this.
7. Former President Dr Goodluck Jonathan has said he bears no grudges against anyone over past actions against him, stressing that forgiveness and reconciliation are essential for political stability, national cohesion and development. He made the remarks on Wednesday evening in Abuja during a requiem mass in honour of Chief Audu Ogbeh.
8. The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has denied any association with a media consultant named Kola Johnson. This is as he also rejected statements released by the media consultant on Wednesday that he would protect Yoruba interests if elected as president in 2027.
9. The Defence Headquarters on Thursday said troops arrested over 120 criminals, including 26 terrorist collaborators and rescued 41 kidnapped victims in nationwide operations conducted between September 14 and 22. Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, told reporters in Abuja that the operations took place across all theatres — the North-East, North-West, North Central, South-South and South-East.
10. Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, on Thursday led key party stakeholders from Kano State in expressing strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The influential APC leaders also vowed to unseat the current New Nigeria Peoples Party administration in Kano.
