
The Naira recorded a second consecutive depreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira dropped further to N1,498.98 per dollar on Thursday, down from N1,494.03 traded on Wednesday.
This means that the Naira weakened by N4.45 on a day-to-day basis.
In the last two days, the naira has dipped by N14.84 against the dollar and foreign currencies.
Meanwhile at the black market, the Naira remained stable at N1,537 per dollar on Thursday, the same rate exchanged on Wednesday.
This comes at a time when the country’s external reserves continued to rise, standing at $41.95 billion as of September 17, 2025.
