Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has named some of his favourite footballers.
According to him, Arsenal defender William Saliba, Lamine Yamal of Barcelona, and the captain of Liverpool Football Club, Virgil van Dijk, are among players he enjoys watching.
Troost-Ekong told ESPN that Saliba has defensive brilliance that makes him one of the best in that position.
“I love watching William Saliba. From my perspective, I really think he’s a really talented centre defender,” Ekong said.
“Virgil van Dijk and Lamine Yamal are very exciting. Ademola Lookman and lastly Victor Osimhen,” he added.
Troost-Ekong, who was named the Player of the Tournament in the last Africa Cup of Nations, said the team is determined to lift the next edition of the competition.
As captain of the Super Eagles, Ekong said he would love to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha and John Mikel Obi.
