The Honourable Minister of Sports, John Enoh, has urged Nigeria Premier Football League clubs to be professional in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The minister gave the advice during a stakeholders’ meeting with the NPFL club owners in Abuja.
Senator Enoh admonished the NPFL clubs to make player’s welfare and insurance a priority.
He added that club licensing compliance, security, infrastructure and contract matters must be treated in accordance with the best practice.
“NPFL clubs need to be professional in their operations,” he stated during the meeting.
“The welfare and insurance of players, club licensing compliance, security, infrastructure, contract matters and others are treated in accordance with best practices.
“Club owners must also rally their supporters, and provide security to ensure the protection of referees. Most of the time, they feel threatened and work in danger.”
