Former Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero has backed Liverpool’s new signing Alexis Mac Allister to win the Premier League Player of the Season Award this term.
Allister joined Liverpool this summer from Brighton for a reported fee of €42million.
When asked who would win the award this season, Aguero picked the 24-year-old midfielder’s name (via All About Argentina): “Alexis Mac Allister.”
Allister also played an important part in Argentina’s success at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 24-year-old provided the assist for Angel Di Maria’s goal against France in the final of the tournament, which Argentina won via penalties.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland managed to win the award last season as he scored 36 goals.
