Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has blamed the club’s players after their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The two teams met for the first time in the Premier League this season and the Gunners were hoping to go six points clear in the league.
But it was the other way round as Pep Guardiola continued his dominance over Arsenal and took his side back to the top of the league table on goals difference.
Ian Wright told Premier League Productions that his former club failed to take their chances and so were punished by clinical City.
“It’s gonna come down to not taking many chances because you think that City at some point will kick in,” he said.
“They’ve got great quality. All the chances we’ve got were very good and you’ve got to take them.
“That’s what I’m sure they’ll learn from. This game they’ve got the chance to score three goals but they missed them and got so much quality.
“They were clinical with their chances. When it comes to this stage of the league, they’re able to navigate this kind of opponent.
“Arsenal didn’t take the chances when they had them because that’s the only way you cause City a problem to make them feel jittery and nervous when you win the ball in the midfield then you can hurt them, but today they didn’t take the chances.
“They are the youngest team in the Premier League and their young age and inexperience may have affected them,” he added.
